Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the signing of David Luiz on a five-year deal from Chelsea.
Brazillian has joined the French outfit after they agreed a fee of £50m with the Stamford Bridge side.
The defender confirmed his departure from Chelsea towards the end of last month when he took to Twitter and Facebook to thank fans and colleagues for their support during his three-and-a-half-year stint in London.
The move will now see Luiz link up with his central defensive partner for the national team, Thiago Silva, straight after their World Cup campaign.
The former Benfica man made 143 appearances for the Blues and scored from the spot during their Champions League final shootout triumph over Bayern Munich in 2012.
The 27-year-old revealed his departure on Facebook in May and said: “Thanks Chelsea for the three and half years of great partnership.
“I’ve made good friends, won many titles and those memories will last with me for ever. I’d like to thank my team-mates, all staff and all supporters(my geezers).
“I’m leaving with great sadness but at the same time excited for the new challenge that lies ahead in this great club in a city that has always enchanted me.”
France international right-back, Sagna completes his long-awaited free transfer to the premier league champions after saying goodbye to Arsenal on Thursday.
Cesc Fabregas completed his move to Chelsea on Thursday claiming he has “unfinished business” in the Barclays Premier League, with former club Arsenal deciding not to exercise their first-option agreement on the Spain midfielder.
It is believed Barcelona received £30million from Chelsea for the 27-year-old and Fabregas has signed a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge, as the move was completed with the player currently in Brazil with the Spain national side.
Fabregas came through the ranks at Barcelona before joining Arsenal, where he developed into a first-team regular over an eight-year spell and eventually became captain at the Emirates Stadium.
