Confab2014:Young Delegate Gets Major Role In National Conference




Ms. Yadoma Bukar Mandara, the youngest delegate at the ongoing national conference, has been named the Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Environment. 

Yadoma clocked 24 years on March 5, 2014.

She is one of the young people representing the Nigerian youths at the conference. Ms Yadoma will be assisting Senator Florence Ita-Giwa in piloting the affairs of the Committee on Environment.

The committee on environment is saddled with the responsibility of proffering solutions to the following areas:

Meteorology and Climate Change, Illegal Mining Activities, Pollution, Gas flaring, Protection of Biodiversity, Afforestation and Reforestation, Flooding/Gully Erosion, Environmental Degradation, Oil Spillage and Desertification, Drought, Waste management/Disposal, Hazardous/Toxic waste, Bush burning, Natural Disaster

Yadoma graduated from the University of Maiduguri in 2010, specialising in environmental biology.

The national conference committee work starts in earnest on Tuesday after the Easter break.

Delegates have been divided into 20 committees, 10 of which will be stationed at the National Judicial Institute (NJI) – venue of the conference; and the other ten will be at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers. 

The committee composition and leadership structure was revealed at Wednesday’s plenary of the national conference after days of round-the-clock work and consultation by the leadership of the conference.
